Haworthia chloracantha

Haworthia chloracantha, Langfontein

Haworthia chloracantha Haw.

chloracantha: green-spined.

H. chloracantha is smaller species, with rosette 2-4 cm in diameter. Colour is yellowish green. Plants are very proliferous and form large clusters in nature. It grows under the bushes and on steep slopes.

Distribution map
H. chloracantha is growing around Herbetsdale and along Gouritz River as it passes through Langeberg mountains. Very confusing are populations of floribunda var. dentata at Herbetsdale, Bayer now includes them into chloracantha, but they are different and much closer to floribunda, because of the colour and leave shape.

H. chloracantha is common in cultivation, doesn´t need any specific requirements. Propagation is easy from offsets.
