Distribution map
H. scabra var. morrisiae is growing in Schoemanspoort, near Rus-en-Vrede. It is an intermediate form between scabra, starkiana and lateganiae. There is a "mystery" plant called smitii, which was collected long time ago and since than no one was able to find it again in the nature. This form is much larger with more prominent tubercles.

H. scabra var. morrisiae is quite attractive plant. In cultivation it is sometimes visible, but mostly these are plants without "good" locality data. Propagation can be done by offsets.
