Haworthia truteriorum Breuer & Marx

truteriourum: in honour of Mr Chummy and his wife Deirdre Truter, owners of the type
locality habitat.

H. truteriorum is small attractive plant from Little Karoo, which in first view reminds H. bayeri. It has flecked and bolder leaves with numerous small teeths around the leaf margin. Leaf colour is dull-green with silvery-white facial lines and many white flacks in between the lines. It is the only species in this part of Little Karro, that grows in shale. Bayeri and picta always grows in quartzite or quartzitic conglomerates. Flowering time is mid to late Summer, three months after bayeri and one month later than closely related indigoa. Flower type is same as mirabilis-magnifica group.
