Haworthia mirabilis 'depauperata'

Haworthia mirabilis 'depauperata', Stormsvlei Pass

Haworthia mirabilis 'depauperata' M.B.Bayer

Name 'depauperata' was used by Bayer for plants from Stormsvlei Pass, but he never officially accepted it. In my opinion they are at least worth enough to mention here. This plant is related to triebneriana, which grows to W and SW from Stormsvlei and 'diversicolor' which occurs on the same mountain range from Stormsvlei Pass to the West up to McGregor. It is much smallet than triebneriana, with more slender and numerous leaves, darker in color. Upper face of the leave is translucent, with teeths on the edges.

Distribution map

It is quite attractive smaller element from mirabilis group, not widelly distributed in collection. Propagation should be done be seeds or offsets. Growing conditions are same as other mirabilis plants.
