Haworthia pubescens M.B.Bayer
pubescens: with many short hairs
H. pubescens has the same growth form as H. herbacea but it is smaller (seldom exceeds 30 mm in diameter). The incurved leaves are dark grey-green and finely pubescent. H. pubescens grows in close association with H. herbacea.
The distribution area is limited and occurs only on several low quartzitic hills SE of Worcester. It grows very seldom in exposed situations. In cultivation it is still quite rare plant. It is usually solitary and propagation must be done by seed. H. pubescens is very slow plant and need to be watered with care.
