Haworthia pallens I.Breuer & M.Hayashi
pallens: refers to its leaf color.
H. pallens has quite broad leaves and robust rosette, slowly proliferous. In full sun they become yellowish brown and it seems to be somewhat intemediate between a "cooperi-type" and "mucronata-type" Haworthia. Plant are much larger than other gracilis type plants and have longer levaes than cooperi var. pilifera from the same area.
H. pallens is known for a longer time in cultivation, it has been distributed under the name H. gracilis. Propagation can by done by seed or by offsetts. It is not difficult species in cultivation.

It´s distribution area is NE of Grahamstown. It is known only from the type locality and few other places nearby. It doesn´t fit to the concept of H. gracilis from Hankey - Patensie area. Nearby is a locality of H. pilifera. Breuer in his recent work refers to this species other populations more to the West up to the Kabouga area.
