H. oculata is a small, compact species with glabrous, bright green leaves with many small lenticular windows. It is freely offsetting species forming dense clumps. It grows on steep unaccessible rocky slopes and it is almost unpossible to get closer to them.

Distribution map

H. oculata is a new name for intermediate plants between H. picturata and H. transiens from Komdomo area. This element grows only near running watter, same as H. cymbiformis and H. transies do. Recent exploration at greater Baviaanskloof area shows that similar element grows in Baviaanskloof itself and as well to the South towards Joubertina, where it integrades into transiens. I will show these plants in transiens article.

H. oculata grows without any problems, need more light to stay nice compact. Propagation can be easily done by offsetts.
