Haworthia arachnoidea 'dimorphoides' M.B.Bayer (=H. limbata sensu Hayashi)

dimorphoides: resembles H. dimorpha

H. arachnoidea 'dimorphoides' belongs to the arachnoidea group. It differs having strong spination on leave edges as well sometimes on the lower leave side. Leaves are more translucent with prominent markings. It is single growing plant, which in cultivation, when grow properly, is very striking plant.
This name was first used by Bruce Bayer (I doubt he has published it), than M. Hayashi described same plant under name H. limbata.

Distribution map
H. arachnoidea 'dimorphoides' grows Hex river valley, near Osplaat. We found it on North or NE slopes, in more exposed situations than other arachnoidea species. If grown properly, this plant resembles H. dimorpha, which grows further North. 'dimorphoides' grows more like other arachnoidea - on low slopes, under the bushes or amongst small rocks, to compare with dimorpha, which grows high on the hills on steep rock slabs in rock crevices. Connection with H. nortieri, which grows from Knersvlakte down to Op-Die-Berg area in Cederberg is also possible and must be further examine.

It has been now propagated in several nurseries, so it is becoming more widesprad in cultivation. Growing conditions are similar to arachnoidea - not direct sun. Propagation must be done by seed.
