Haworthia attenuata var. radula (Jacq.) M.B.Bayer
radula: like a rasp.
H. attenuata var. radula is variety of H. attenuata, it differentiates because of smaller and more numerous tubercles, leaves are more scabrid rather than tuberculate. It has more slender and longer leaves. It is a very attractive plant in cultivation as the many tubercles give the plant a silvery appereance.
H. attenuata var. radula is known only from immediate vicinity of Hankey in the Humansdorp area, where it grows together with H. attenuata.
Well known locality of H. attenuata var. radula NE. Hankey was in recent few years almost destroyed due to absurd agricultural activity - the 5m strip along the road, where the population used to grow was cleaned by the bulldozer... and left unexploited.
H. attenuata var. radula is an easy species which can be propagated by offsetts. It doesn´t require any special growing conditions.
