H. mirabilis var. beukmannii is a very robust, slowly proliferous species. It has strongly retused leaves and spined margins. Plants grows in restrictive shale cracks between Greyton and Riviersonderend. In the general area around it grows close to triebneriana.
In nature plants have few smaller leaves, but in cultivation they can grow much large.
H. mirabilis var. beukmannii is not a difficult species in cultivation and in good sun light it can show beautiful color. Propagation can be done by seeds, offsets or leave cuttings.
