H. dekenahii is retusoid element from Albertinia area. It has more rounded leaves with blunt tips than other species. Leaves are with raised tubercles, sometimes with silver flecks. Color is darkish green. Plants do not offsett and can be cryptic. In nature plants are up to 6 cm in diameter, in cultivation they can grow quite large, more than 10 cm.

H. dekenahii is known from one locality only. It grows very close to H. turgida var. suberecta and H. floribunda var. dentata. Bayer in his Haworthia Revisited includes this species as variety under magnifica. To me it is more close to pygmaea group, nt only because of the distribution area (Western edge of the pygmaea group distribution area), but because of the leaves shape and flowering type and time. The locality isn´t large, but the population was healthy.

H. dekanehii should be propagated by seed or leaves cuttings. It doesn´t need any special requests in cultivation. It is not yet widespread in cultivation, which is a pity, because it is very attractive.
