Haworthia cooperi 'puberula' M.B.Bayer
puberula: hairy.
H. cooperi 'puberula' is smaller species from cooperi group found by M.B.Bayer. It hasn´t been officially published under this name, but this name fits best to it. The main features are longer, thinner slightly translucent leaves covered with small hairs. Colour is light yellowish green. Size of the rosette is 3-4 cm and plant is slowly proliferous.

H. cooperi 'puberula' was described from top of the hills at Kabouga and De Plaat farms, now part of Addo Nat. park. Many interesting Haworthias are growing around, for example H. aristata, cooperi, cooperi/gracilis, glauca aff., nigra, sordida, cymbiformis aff... This plant was described by Hayashi and Breuer as H. ciliata. For me is unfortunate, that "new" name was created instead or using well accepted name used by Bayer.
H. cooperi 'puberula' needs more careful watering than others cooperi elements, may be due to its specific growing situation. Propagation should be done by seed. It is very attractive species or form of cooperi, which definitely deserve its place in our collections.
