Distribution map |
H. mortonii is recently (2007) described species from Bredasdorp area. It is know so far from one very small locality, where it grows together with maraisii. It could be a natural hybrid of marginata and minima?. Closest relative could be marginata, but plants from closest population at Adoonskop, few km to the North, are very small (4-5cm) and without any tubercles.
H. mortonii isn´t very common in collection. It needs similar conditions like marginata. Propagation must be done by seed.
Known locality:
- N. Bredasdorp (3420CA)
