Haworthia zantneriana, N-end of Campherspoort |
zantneriana: in honour of Major Zantner.
H. zantneriana is offsetting, pale-green species with soft glabrous and attenuate leaves, very often with white markings on them and with white keels and margins. In nature it forms usually larger clumps, but it is always found in rock crevices higher up on the hills. It prefers South slopes, which are more shaded. Some plants can be up to 8 cm in diameter. In nature it very often grows together with H. decipens var. minor.
Distribution map |
H. zantneriana is not much widespread in collections, which is a pity, because they could be very attractive. Cultivation is easy and propagation can be done by offsetts.
