Distribution map
This interesting small plant is growing only around Villiersdorp, which is SW extreme of herbacea distribution area. It was first reported by Elsie Esterhuysen. When I finally found this plant, first impression was it must be close to maculata more than to herbacea. It grows amongst the lichen in rock crevices and sometimes very well hidden.

H. herbacea var. lupula is quite nice smaller species, not very often seen in cultivation. Growing condition are same as for herbacea or maculata. Propagation can be done by offsetts or seedlings.
