H. turgida 'caespitosa' is small, proliferous species with soft, brownish-red leaves. This species was included by Bayer as a synonym of H. turgida. Breuer separated this plant as a own species under "new" name H. caespitosa.
Distribution map

H. turgida 'caespitosa'  grows  only in Tradouw Pass, between Barrydale and Swellendam / Heidelberg area. It forms there large clusters, usually in quite steep slopes. It can be easily propagated from offsetts. In cultivation it grows without any problems.
