Haworthia picturata (M.B.Bayer) I.Breuer

picturata: variegated.

H. picturata is small, proliferous species with bright green leaves, in which translucent areas of the leaves contrast strongly with the dark green opaque lower leaf surfaces. The leaf tips are either normally pointed and thus very similar to the H. isabellae, or may be blunt and incurved.

Distribution map

H. picturata grows in Hankey - Patensie area. This variety is an intermediate species between H. gracilis and H. transiens. Also H. oculata, H. isabellae and H. gordoniana are growing in same area. It usually grows on steep slopes or rock faces, very often co-occurs with H. viscosa and H. longiana.

H. picturata can be easily grown in cultivation and propagation by offsetts is the easist method.
