Haworthia arachnoidea 'tradouwensis' I.Breuer

tradouwensis: named after its locality, Tradouw Pass.

H. arachnoidea 'tradouwensis' is smaller arachnoidea like plant. It has pale green colour with soft bristles - similar to var. setata. Leave margins are slightly translucent and with bristles. It belongs to the arachnoidea group, it has been known (and distributed) as var. setata. It has been described as new species (in Avonia journal 21:3,2003) by I. Breuer. It is an intermediate form of H. arachnoidea var. setata and H. mucronata due to its leave characteristics and flower.

Distribution map

H. arachnoidea 'tradouwensis' is growing at North end of Tradouw Pass and in the area to the SW of Barrydale. In the sa me area grows strenge form of mucronata 'inconfluens'?, maraisii, pumila (maxima), turgida 'caespitosa' and viscosa. Habitat situation is similar to all other arachnoidea species. In nature it grows usually solitairy, but in cultivation it forms small clusters. 

It is not difficult species and it just needs more shady condition like other arachnoidea. Propagation by seed or offsetts.
