Haworthiopsis glabrata (Salm Dyck) Baker.


glabrata: smooth.

H. glabrata is similar to H. attenuata. Name suggest it is smooth, but glabrata has small tubercles. It has rosettes up to 10 cm, with dark green colour. Leaves are up to 12cm long with concolor white tubercles. It is very common plant in cultivation, but very rare in nature - it is know sofar only from one area at Collywoobles. It is very dramatic landscape there and not many people travell so far away to East to visit this species. H. glabrata grows here on steep slopes, where it forms small clusters. Not far away from it grows strange from of H. cymbiformis var. setulifera and Aloe reynoldsii.

H. glabrata grows very easily in cultivation and propagation is best by offsetts.
